Getting started

Dashboard

Your day and your money at a glance, with every number a click away from the work behind it.

The Dashboard is the first page of the day: what came in, what is waiting on customers, what is waiting on you, and who is working on what. The period menu holds Today, Yesterday, 7 days, 30 days, Month, and a custom range for any dates in the last 93 days. Switching is instant: the page already holds every day and recomputes in place, and the chart glides from one window to the next. Narrow everything to one service writer or one technician with the two menus beside the ranges; a quote or bill counts for a writer or tech when any job on it carries them.

Two views: Overview and Live. Live is the shop as it happens, driven by the same change events the board uses: a payment, an approval, a quote being opened by the customer, a check-in or pickup, a booking, a tech clocking on or off a job, a text in or out, each appears the moment it happens and lights for a few seconds. Each line names who did it when the record knows: the advisor who checked the car in or sent the quote, the tech who started the job, the customer who approved or paid online, the receptionist that texted. Above the stream: who is on the clock with a running timer, cars that arrived in the last two hours, and, when it is the case, which customer has a quote or bill open right now (a good moment to call).

What it shows

  • Collected. Money that came in during the window, by any method except store credit, after refunds given in the window. Refunds and store credit used print as their own words under the figure ("after $20.00 refunded · $100.00 store credit used"); a bill paid with store credit spends credit the customer already held, so it is never counted as money collected. Financials shows the same Collected for the same days. The change against the window before it and a chart of the last weeks sit with it, and cars seen, average repair order and your close ratio (approved dollars over written dollars) beside it. Average repair order is net sales divided by invoices settled in the window, the same rule Financials and the Full profit report use, so the three never disagree.
  • Written, Sold, Waiting on approval, Balance due. Four tiles. Written and Sold carry the change against the previous window and a trend line for the window you picked (by the hour for a single day, by the day otherwise). Waiting on approval turns orange when the oldest sent quote is more than two days old; Balance due is orange whenever an issued invoice is unpaid. Balance due is what issued invoices still owe: the total minus the money held (payments minus refunds), so a bill that was paid and then refunded is owed again. It is the same figure Financials calls Owed to you and the same one on the customer's statement.
  • Quotes, Payments by method, Top jobs sold, Cars by stage. The quote funnel (sent, opened, approved, declined, each against the previous window), how money came in, which jobs sold the most, and where the cars are. Under Payments by method, one line reads the cash drawer: "Drawer open since 8:02 AM · $212.40 expected" with Count drawer, or "Drawer not open today" with Open drawer. Both open the same dialog the Financials panel uses, so the end of the day can be closed out from here. A drawer nobody counted the night before reads "Drawer still open from Oct 21, count it to start today": CarSignal never closes a drawer by itself, since the count is yours. Expected cash is money, so the line shows only to members who can see prices and payments.
  • Needs a hand. The cars that need someone, in order of impact: Collect (balances owed, biggest first), then Start (approved work sitting idle), then Chase (quotes waiting on the customer, or never opened), then Hand back (cars ready for pickup). Each group header counts the whole group and its dollars (all eighteen bills owed, say), while the list shows the ten that matter most per kind; the oldest leads when amounts tie.
  • Team today. Your punch clock first: Punch in when you arrive, Punch out when you leave, with how long you have been on. Admins also see On the clock now, who is punched in, with a Punch out beside each name for the tech who forgot. Under it, hours each technician has logged on jobs today, with a live dot while a job timer runs, and the jobs they have in progress.
  • Hours. This week: Shop time (the punch clock) beside Billed time (job timers), for you, or for admins, you plus everyone with time this week (a 0-minute row is not shown). The two are never added together. Open a row for the full timesheet by pay period and Download CSV for payroll.
  • Last 24 hours. Payments, approvals, declines, quotes and invoices sent, check-ins and bookings as they happened.

Every tile and row is a link: a tile opens the Vehicles list filtered to those cars, a row opens the car. The numbers come from the same records as Financials, so the two always agree.

Multiple locations

If your shops are grouped as a brand, a row of location cards sits at the top of each store's dashboard with every store's collected total, trend, cars in shop, bookings today and money waiting on approval. Click a card to switch to that location.

The brand-level dashboard lives where the brand does: open the shop switcher at the top left and choose All locations. Every number on that page is all stores summed, rows carry the store's name, the Live view shows every store's floor, and a Locations table compares the stores for the window (collected and change, written, sold, close ratio, cars, average repair order, waiting, balance due, in shop). You see only the locations you are a member of.

Members without financial access see the counts and the lists with money hidden.

On the phone

The mobile app opens on the same dashboard, the Home tab: the same Collected, tiles, cars by stage, needs-a-hand list and team hours, read from the same numbers as the desk. Pick a range at the top; brand members can switch between this location and all locations. The Live view is web only for now. The phone's Home also lists Appointments today above Money waiting (time, customer, car, how it was booked, and its status; a tap opens the car); the web dashboard does not show appointments yet.
